What is binge drinking? Why is it so common among young people and here in the CNMI? "Binge drinking is where a large amount of alcohol is consumed in a short period of time." (alcoholireland.ie/alcohol-and-you/binge-drinking/) According to the office of National Statistics for binge drinking, men consume 8 units in a single session while women consume 6 units in a single session. [By using the term 'units', I mean that they drink the given beer, for example.] Binge drinking is common to young people around the ages of 16-18 and it is a serious problem. Although the youth drink less than adults do, when they do drink, they drink more. That is because young people consume more than 90 percent of their alcohol by binge drinking. NAACP/Cultural Appropriation

Write in your blog how the NAACP and Cultural Appropriation is relevant to the CNMI. Give examples. The NAACP and the term 'cultural appropriation' are relevant to the CNMI because of the CNMI was founded, and because of some current events. Before the CNMI became the CNMI, there were many administrations from different countries. Since these countries were different, their cultures were different as well. During their administrative stay, it was inevitable that there would be intermingling between the administration whether it be, Spanish or Japanese, and the local people the CNMI. This led to the culture in the CNMI having some similarities to both Spain and Japan. One notable similarity and example of this, which many people would agree on, is how the Chamorro language is very similar to Spanish.
